Hybrid Halloween Treat Packaging

Hybrid Halloween Treat Packaging by Julie Walker featuring the Spookalicious Digital Kit by Mye De Leon available at www.snapclicksupply.com #digitalscrapbooking #halloweencrafts
Happy Halloween, everybody!  I just love Fall and am getting excited about the upcoming festivities that go along with it.  Now, if the weather in South Texas would just cool off a bit (we are still experiencing 90+ degree temps here) we might get into the spirit a little more.  Regardless of what Mother Nature delivers, I am ready to surprise my neighbors with these cute Halloween treats!
Halloween 2015 Photo 2 - by Julie Walker
I picked up a few containers at Target’s $1 spot, but any empty jar/bag/box/container will work for this project – it’s easily adaptable!  Next, I created an 8 1/2″ x 11″ document in Photoshop.  Then, using Mye De Leon’s Spookalicious kit, I simply chose a few of the circle tags and other embellishments that I knew would look good on my jars and pulled them onto my blank document.  I sized the elements to fit my jars, printed the page, and cut out each item.

This is what the jars looked like (filled with candy, of course!).

Just perfect for Halloween!

See how cute they look with just a few bits of bling attached?  I simply covered the circle tags, added a fun sentiment to a crazy skeleton straw, and strung a tag using some fiber.

I think my neighbors will love finding these treats on their front porches!

Halloween Hybrid Mantel Ideas

Halloween Mantel by Candice Meyer featuring Echo Park Hybrid's Hocus Pocus collection available www.snapclicksupply.com #halloween #hybridproject

Hello Snap Click Supply fans! Candice Meyer here with a few fun ideas for dressing up your Halloween mantel. When I saw this darling burlap banner at Target, I knew it would be the perfect addition to my seasonal décor.

To add a little charm, I decided to embellish the letters with family photos and digital elements from the Hocus Pocus Collection by Echo Park Paper Co. There are so many festive pieces to choose from- whether you are making a card, decorating a scrapbook layout, or adding a little pizzaz to Holiday decorations!

This project was simple, fast, and fun! Here’s the recipe: PRINT, EMBELLISH, & ATTACH!

To make your embellishments stand out, here are a few ideas:

Add glitter! I used a glue pen to outline the areas I wanted to sparkle. Tip: Make sure the scrap piece of paper that you are using to catch the excess glitter is creased in the center. This small step will allow you to create a handy funnel to dump the extra back into the jar!

Edge the sides of your pieces with a gold Krylon pen. This process adds polish and sparkle to your elements!

Add unexpected elements! These potion jars from the digital collection are simply adorable! I couldn’t resist tying a small ribbon around the neck and placing a white flower punch in the center. A purple rhinestone completed the look!

One other idea in this category: cut your photos out in fun shapes! Several of my photos, for example, feature scalloped edges. I even added a purple washi tape border to the bottom of one!

Incorporate punches! On this purple 4×6 journaling card, I added a punched bat with sparkly eyes. I only applied glue to the center of his body so the wings would easily pop up for added dimension. To make this card extra spooky, I also outlined several of the branches with black glitter.

I attached several larger pieces with decorative clothespins and tacked the rest of the pieces with glue dots. The final result = a personalized, one-of-a-kind decoration that is sure to brighten any space!

To complement this large banner, I created a mini version to hang across my mantel’s central photo frame. Adding this element also solved a design issue for me. The blue tones of my photo didn’t exactly match the rest of my vignette! This photo was one of my absolute favorites from my daughter’s first Halloween- making it a “must display item!” Adding a pop of orange across the corner helped integrate this piece into the larger whole. The orange argyle patterned paper from the Hocus Pocus collection [http://www.snapclicksupply.com/hocus-pocus-full-collection /] worked perfectly to solve this dilemma! I printed a sheet of this digital paper and punched out 5 pennants. I added purple scalloped squares to the center and sticker letters that spelled out the word: BOO! I love how this simple addition helped to make everything feel cohesive!
