Rachael says this about her beautiful layout: My nieces and nephews feature heavily in my scrapbook layouts. I love these cuties!
Below are some details about Rachael.
Eating: way too much, haha. Lately, I’ve been noshing on pumpkin bread whenever I get the chance.
Listening to: Christmas music, of course! I’m also digging the song “Automatic” by Zhu & AlunaGeorge.
Reading: The latest James Rollins novel (The Bone Labyrinth)
Watching: The Walking Dead; Person of Interest
Loving: Spending time with family. Since my husband & I moved back from San Diego, we have been able to spend more time with our families, and we love it.
Creating: Frantically trying to finish an ABC book (digital scrapbook style) for my nephew’s Christmas present. It’s been a tradition for each of the kids since I started scrapbooking.
Looking forward to: Christmas, of course! And quality time with my adorable nieces and nephews.
Tya also hails from Utah, and you can catch up with her crafty adventures by clicking on the links to her blog and social media accounts below.
Listening to: I love 80’s music so when I create or clean I have my 80’s Sirius Radio on. I am also jamming to 2 alt bands that my 18 year old introduced me to that have an 80’s vibe- The Neighbourhood and The 1975.
Reading: I am a huge Harry Potter nerd so I am re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Halllows ( I read it every year.)
Watching: I love all the Shondaland shows, so I just caught up with this seasons Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.
Loving: Wrapping all the gifts for my family-it truly is better to give than receive! I love this time of year!
Creating: Working on a Digital Holiday Album and getting ready to go through all my pictures that I have taken this year and getting them printed off. I do this every New Year’s Day.
Looking forward to:Planning a trip to NYC in March for Spring Break!

Hello Snap Click Supply fans! It’s Candice Meyer here to share a few fun Holiday gift tag ideas that are beautiful AND quick to make! Picking a pack to work with was difficult since there are so many gorgeous Holiday digital designs on Snap Click Supply’s store! I fell in love with the elements The Story of Christmas Collection by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park. This mega-pack is brimming over with darling details, charming script phrases, and even a festive font option!
To make this project quick and easy, I relied on foundational shapes from one of my favorite collections: Lori Whitlock’s Label Brush Set B. I selected several fun designs to be the base of each gift tag. The basic process:
- Open up a new transparent document sized 5×7.
- Use your brush tool to create a tag base.
- Drag elements from the Story of Christmas onto the tag.
- Use the print and cut feature of the silhouette machine to cut out your new tag designs.
- Embellish your tags with glitter, gold edging, rhinestones, metallic nailheads, and ribbon!
To make this cute little gift tag, I clipped a wooden background paper [The Story of Christmas] onto one of the square ticket designs [Label Brush Set B]. I added the darling banner at the top so it draped across the shape. The “To” and “From” were alpha characters from element pack 4 [Story of Christmas]. To make these elements pop, I used the “Fill Layer” option to change their coloring from red to white. Be sure to use the guidelines feature to double check your letters are lined up perfectly! After this shape was printed, I edged it with a Krylon gold leafing pen.
I couldn’t resist using the banner element one more time—as a large focal item on a gift package! To make this shape easy for my silhouette to cut out, I added a stroke selection to the outline of the banner. (I just wanted it to be barely visible so I set the width to 3 px.) Once printed and cut, I simply glued this large graphic to the top of my gift! I added a golden metallic nailhead in each of the pom pom circles for extra sparkle. Such an easy gift idea with a definite wow factor!
The long ribbon tag from Brush Set B is perfect for attaching to a gift bag this Holiday season. I kept the background white and simply clipped the “Deck the Halls” saying element to the shape. Two additional holly images completed the look! Again, I added a barely visible stroke line around the tag outline so it would be easy for my silhouette to cut out. Once printed and cut, I embellished the holly berries with red rhinestones!
Shades of blue and aqua happen to be my favorite color palette. This tag will compliment your gift giving activities all winter long! I spelled out the word “JOY” using a combination of letters and graphics. The “J” and “Y” were made using my favorite san serif font and the “O” was a snowflake circle medallion from The Story of Christmas collection. Once again, I used guidelines to ensure that everything lined up perfectly.
I added two additional snowflake elements to the corners for added interest. Since I didn’t want these designs competing with the focal point, I set the opacity to 64%. Once my tag was printed and cut, I edged the outline with aqua glitter. Optional: Pop up the center snowflake circle using double sided foam tape to create dimension! For added sparkle, I outlined the snowflake medallion with crystal glitter.
The striped border on this tag was created by first dragging paper #10 onto the background shape. Then, I used the shape tool to create a large rectangle spanning the entire tag—this simple action created a digital washi tape effect since only the borders of the striped paper are showing on my tag!
Any of the script words [Cheer, Christmas, Merry] in The Story of Christmas collection would be beautiful focal points for your gift tags! I paired the “Cheer” graphic with the present element on this classic tag shape. Positioning a star garland near the top completed my design. Once the tag was printed and cut, I added red glitter to the “Cheer” script, rhinestones to the star garland, and popped up the present using double sided foam tape.
There are so many amazing possibilities using The Story of Christmas mega-pack to design your Holiday gift tags! Hopefully, this post sparks your creativity… we’d love to see your handmade gift tags this season – be sure to share them on our Facebook page! We are giving away 3 of the gift tags featured above to our wonderful readers!

Hi! It’s Betsy here and I’d like to share my December project and layout with you. I’ve been working with limited supplies lately since my craft area is packed away as we do some minor construction. Knowing I’d still need to satisfy my creative urges, I kept a few things handy to create with: all of my solid cardstock, a few storage bags of patterned paper, and a handful of embellishments including sequins and a pack of wooden hexagons. It’s times like these, when supplies are thin, where a full digital stash comes in handy.
I used the whimsical Stitched Snowflakes from Nancie Rowe Janitz on my wooden hexagons as embellishments.
I was stuck creatively on how to lay out my hexagons on the 12×12 canvas. I went to Pinterest and searched for the word “hexagons”. This is how the resulting pins from this search inspired me to create this layout.
- Instead of clumping the hexagons together, I spread them out in a meandering line similar to the wall decorations here.
- My hexagons didn’t seem “grounded” to me until I was this card and decided to back the entire hexagon grouping with a bright cardstock.
- Titles are always the most difficult part of a layout for me, but this card prompted me to try my title (and journaling) on a banner.
Using these three creative ideas, I produced a layout I love:

Bazzill Swiss Dot Cardstock
Wooden Hexagon Pieces by Kaiser Crafts

Jenni Bowllin Studio Malted Milk ink
